SHAPING THE POSITIVE PSYCHOLOGY FOR BETTER LIVING [Socio-psycho study of Rajasthan-JAIPUR




Although unlike height, weight, or GDP, happiness is hard to measure. 

The World Happiness Report 2020, published by the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN), a global initiative of the United Nations. India UN World Happiness IndexIndia at 144 rank, Pakistan 66, Finland tops again. New Delhi: The United Nations (UN) on Firday released its World Happiness Report and India was at a dismal 144 rank of a total 156 nations surveyed. India has been scored at 3.573 points nestled between Lesotho and Malawi nations.The report takes into account the GDP per capita, life expectancy, social support and freedom to make life choices as indicators of happiness. The world is approaching a
milestone for global development. A new sustainable development agenda of transformative and
universal Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) have now been started its full-fledged
functioning all over . There is now a remarkable convergence of vision underlying the priorities
for the proposed SDG’s and those of the new Government in India. Building on the MDG’s the
SDG’s propose to end Poverty and Deprivation in all forms, leaving no one behind, while
making development economically, socially and environmentally sustainable. India has made
notable progress towards development and rapid urbanization leading its uprising cities towards
Smart Cities. According to United Nationa’s report India has been passed on to a new
Government with a decisive mandate for change. Though its principle of ‘Sabka Saath Sabka
Vikas” its policy actions since assuming office more than ever before. The government is calling
for improved sanitation, health, education, financial inclusion , security and dignity of all
especially women. It is also prioritizing environmental protection by treating the challenge of
climate change adaptation as an opportunity rather than a problem. These all initiatives are based
on the development of past 14 years and its achievement by the then government set in MDG’s.
This article is an initiation that focuses on the question, how religion plays vital role within
society confronting with psychological problems like stress, increasing rates of suicide, anxiety,
depression, and mental ill-ness? How helpful it has been proved in reducing them? Studies in
USA and UK have proved that religion through its slow process of infusing virtues and morals
brings positive psychology in individuals and makes them happier to go ahead towards better-
life. This small initiation has been taken to understand the role of religion in bringing the
happiness in context of India which is by its constitutional provisions is a secular country and is
known as the “Sugar Bowl of World” where the people lives in are from the various religious
walks of life.
